Le Pelateau is situated in the beautiful
little village of Montgibaud. Montgibaud can be found in the
Correze; a department of the Limousin, nestled just below the border
of the Haute-Vienne.
Le Pelateau's position is ideal for
visiting/house hunting in both the
Correze and the Haute Vienne departments of the Limousin and
the Dordogne; or as a mid-way stop over on your way to the south.
Montgibaud is situated just 10 minutes off exit 42 on the A20 and only 45
minutes drive from Limoges airport.

Dining
at Le Pelateau
All meals are taken in the beautiful dining area. Dining at
Le Pelateau
is a social affair with all guests seated around the spacious dining table.
After dinner coffees can be taken in the seating area within the main
dining/sitting room.
A
continental breakfast is available and is included in the room tariff. A home
cooked four course meal with wine is available at 20 euros per person (10 euros
for children under 12; a high chair is available on request) but must be booked
in advance. Weather permitting (which it usually does) we hold a BBQ evening for
guests once a week.
Self Catering in The Cottage
The
Cottage/Gîte is separate from the main house and can accommodate up to 6 people.
The Cottage is spacious, clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated, whilst
maintaining its cottage atmosphere. The Cottage has views across the garden and
beyond. The accommodation consists of:
The Cottage
has 2 bedrooms, one double which is dual aspect with electric heater and one
twin with bunk beds; both bedrooms have ample cupboard space. The landing area
has further cupboard space and a sofa bed which sleeps an additional two
people.
The living/dining area
benefits from a large dining table comfortably seating 6 people, a seating area
around the wood burner, TV, DVD player and a gas heater.
The kitchen has newly fitted
units with a gas oven, hob and extractor hood, a fridge, and a double sink.
Provided in the kitchen are a toaster, kettle, cafetiere, blender, iron and
ironing board. All necessary cooking utensils are also available including a 6
person dinner service.
The bathroom
has a large shower, wash basin with mirror lighting, a WC, shelving, clothes
airer and an electric heater.
Amenities
Guests have full use of
Le Pelateau’s large garden and the BBQ, with
outside seating area. The Cottage guests are asked to request to use the BBQ as
we may be using it for our weekly BBQ evening. The Cottage guests are more than
welcome to join the evening, but this must be booked in advance. Board games and
cards are held in the main house but are available to guests in The Cottage. All
bedding and bath towels are provided free of charge and access to a washing
machine is available for a small charge. Both a cot and a high chair can be made
available but please inform us when booking. Le
Pelateau has spacious off road parking. A welcome pack is provided
for all guests on arrival.
Please note: The Cottage is not suitable for people with mobility difficulties.
Montgibaud
boasts a very good restaurant and local amenities can be found 5km away in the
village of Meuzac; 8km away Lubersac offers full amenities
including 2 supermarkets. A lake with a bathing area can be found 5km away in
Meuzac; an ideal distance for a leisurely bike ride or walk. Ample off road
parking is available.

wheelchair friendly, all access is ramped, and have a
double en-suite on the ground floor. There are two large bedrooms on the 1st
floor, 1 double and one twin, both of which have en-suite facilities.

area have double doors leading onto the terrace, which overlook the lawn and

Forge de Frugie – village gite for holiday rental all year round.
La Forge de Frugie is found in the centre of
the village of St Pierre de Frugie but nevertheless private with its own
garden with a view across the valley to the forests.
A holiday here will give you the genuine French experience.
Saint
Pierre de Frugie is a small medieval village in the Perigord Vert in
the north of the Dordogne and situated in the parc naturel regional
Perigord Limousin.
This gite is a perfect base to explore the Dordogne, Limousin (border 5
minutes) and the Charente is also reachable easily.
You can discover goat farms which you may vist and taste there very good
cheeses. You may also find artisans who prepare apple juice and eat crepes. An
Angora goat farm, a fishing farm, a zen temple, eco centre, deer farm, a pottery
studio are all found close to the village. A bar restaurant is just across the
road!
During the summer months the village holds a large fete which people visit from
miles around and also there are night farmers markets where you can dine and
have fun with the locals.
There is also a communal lake where you may picnic and a fishing permit may be
obtained. Close to the lake is a visitor centre where you will find information
on all activities in the region including 200 kms of walks.
Saint Pierre de Frugie is also local to many beautiful chateau.
Within 10 minutes you will find Bussiere Galant where there is a leisure
lake for swimming with a beach area. The leisure area also boasts an acrobois
and a velo rail and paintballing.
The nearest town is La Coquille, 4 km, where you will find restaurants,
supermarket, doctors, chemist, bank, many shops, post office, boulangerie and
patisserie, hairdressers and a market each Thursday morning. There is also a
train station here or in Bussiere Galant with direct line to Perigueux/Limoges.
Not far are the lovely towns of Brantome, Sarlat, St Yrieix la Perche
and the cities of Perigueux and Limoges are approximately 40
minutes. Also worth a visit is Ordour sur Glane where you will discover a

On the ground floor there is an open plan kitchen, with a breakfast bar with
bar stools and a dining table. Living room with comfy sofas and views to the

Restaurant, Bar and Hotel, is a large 200 year old three storey house.
We provide cosy rooms and a friendly welcome for bed and breakfast and

The property is at the heart of Champsac, which is a small Limousin
commune 25 minutes south of Limoges.

The Villars grotto is the largest underground network in the

Oradour-sur-Glane
During World War II, Oradour-sur-Glane was the scene of a cruel
massacre carried out by SS troops. The remains of Oradour have
now been preserved as a commemorative museum and resource centre.
Jumilhac
le Grand
The chateau at Jumilhac is open to the public during the summer,
this beautiful town also hosts a Sunday market during July and August.
You can still pan for gold in the rivers around Jumilhac, you
might strike it rich!

Follow the trail of 11th/12th century castles and fortresses Richard I
would have known, from Coussac-Bonneval to Chalus where
Richard was struck down by an arrow. During summer months many of these

situated on the Limousin / North Dordogne / Charente border and
the nearest large town is St Mathieu, which can offer all the
amenities required on a day to day bases.
The gite has been
recently renovated to a high standard with many of the original features
retained including original oak beams and exposed stonework.
The accommodation
includes a lounge with large comfortable sofas and chairs, satellite TV,

Very
large lounge, comfortably furnished and with a TV and DVD player,
leading into an open plan dining room and kitchen. The kitchen is fully
equipped with a fridge/ freezer, gas cooker, washing machine and
microwave, and has plenty of cupboard space and large worktops. From the
lounge, French doors open onto a large deck with table and chairs,
parasol and a bar-be-cue.
Upstairs there is a large central hallway which all rooms lead from.
There are 2 large double bedrooms with double beds, one with an en-suite
shower and wash hand basin and 2 smaller double bedrooms with 2 single
beds in each. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, wash hand basin
and toilet, and there is a separate toilet with hand basin.
La Porchiere
sleeps 2/3
The
Porcherie still has the traditional stone walls and lovely original
features. It is an open plan design with the kitchen and living area
downstairs and a mezzanine bedroom and bathroom upstairs.
The
kitchen is fully equipped with a gas cooker, fridge and washing machine
and microwave, the lounge has a TV and DVD player and a bed settee which
could sleep another person if required.
From the
lounge, French doors lead onto a very pretty patio, complete with patio
furniture and bar-be-cue
Both
gites are supplied with linen and towels and a cot and high chair are
available on request. Generally electricity and gas are included in the
price, but electricity will be charged if heaters are required.

Grotte de Villars
The Villars grotto is the largest underground network in the
Perigord and a tour will enable you to see impressive stalactites
and a luminere show.
Oradour-sur-Glane
During World War II, Oradour-sur-Glane was the scene of a cruel
massacre carried out by SS troops. The remains of Oradour have
now been preserved as a commemorative museum and resource centre.
Jumilhac le Grand
The chateau at Jumilhac is open to the public during the summer,
this beautiful town also hosts a Sunday market during July and August.
You can still pan for gold in the rivers around Jumilhac, you
might strike it rich!
Richard the Lionheart
Route
Follow the trail of 11th/12th century castles and fortresses Richard I
would have known, from Coussac-Bonneval to Chalus where
Richard was struck down by an arrow. During summer months many of these
castles organize special events, exhibitions and concerts.

which is annexed to the rear of the owners original Limousin farmhouse

Haute Vienne in the hamlet of Les Brégères. French department 87,
the nearest towns are Rochechouart, Oradour-sur-Vayres and
Vayres, whilst Limoges is also within easy travelling
distance as is its expanded airport with daily flights from various
places in the UK.

Our
house is set in approx one acre of land and we offer an en-suite family
room, a twin bedded room, and a double room with use of all facilities.
We have our own vegetable plot, and are now
the proud owners of a small, but hopefully growing flock of chickens
(for those fresh eggs for Mother's cooking)!
Our ideal is to offer a quiet and relaxed
base from which you can explore the real France around us whether on
holiday or house hunting in the area.
We are located in Bussiere Galant
village with all necessary shops and railway station with direct line
Perigueux/Limoges. The village also has a large leisure lake where
you can swim or fish and it is surrounded by parkland for walking or
enjoying the more strenuous tree top adventure playground.

Converted
barn in Saint Nicolas Courbefy, Haute-Vienne, 40mins from Limoges.
Our gite is in a converted barn approximately 500metres above
sea level with beautiful views stretching over the rolling Dordogne countryside.
It is at the end of a lane with almost no traffic, very peaceful with chestnut
woods to one side and the rear of the property.
It
is an ideal situation for walkers, nature lovers, cyclists, artists and families
alike. We are about 40 minutes drive from Limoges with it's two golf
courses, plenty of shops and it's famous porcelain manufacturers and 15 mins
from St Yrieix, famous for it's madeleines. About 10 mins away is the
historic village of Chalus where Richard the Lionheart met his death.
All around is countryside and peace and tranquility. Whilst within 2 hours is
the famous river of the Dordogne. There are local shops within 5 minutes drive
for everyday essentials and a bread van calls three times a week for those that
really don't want to leave here. There is plenty of grass for children to roam
and play on or adults to just laze on.
